A stunning 1959 Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins, in very good condition.
Less then 2 years after the creation of the Filter’tron, Gretsch starting equipping their seminal 6120 model with this new breed of pickup as a remplacement for the DeArmond single coil used up until that point. The basic model is essentially the same, but this change marks a move from Chet Atkins’ yakety country style over to a high intensity rockabilly sound, later to be embodied by Brian Setzer.
This guitar has the typical late 50s wiring, with a three-way selector switch, separate volume controls for each pickup, a master tone switch and a master volume control. Comes equipped with a Bigsby tailpiece, horseshoe inlay on the headstock, everything wrapped in a beautiful Orange finish.
Complete professional setup done in our workshop, in perfect playing condition.
In its original Gretsch hardcase.
