1960 Fender Telecaster refinished in Translucent Red, in beautiful condition.
Here’s something a little offbeat compared to the instruments we typically offer: sometime in 1960, this slab-board Telecaster left the Fullerton factory with the Blonde finish traditionally applied to the founding model of the solidbody guitar made by Fender, however we find it today in an unusual color that can be best described as Translucent Red, aesthetically closer to the productions of the late 70s (this look is completed by a non-original black pickguard)!
Aside from these elements, we find the expected markers of a Telecaster of the era: rosewood slab-board fingerboard (understand, a considerable thickness of fingerboard compared to those produced later called veneer board), maple neck topped with the spaghetti logo, two original single coil pickups, potentiometers dated to the 47th week of 1959, three-position pickup selector (note that the wiring has undergone the classic modification, removing the dark circuit originally in position 1 to offer the configuration introduced by Fender in the late 60s with neck pickup in position 1, both pickups in position 2 and the bridge pickup in position 3). We note old traces of drilling around the jack socket of the instrument, marks of use and wear to the varnish.
We’ve gone to great lengths to set up this guitar with a full fret planing, action and intonation adjustment at the bridge and nut – this lightweight Telecaster is perfectly set up for playing.
Comes with a later Fender case.
