Gibson SG Junior from 1968, in superb original condition.
The SG Junior is one of those Gibson models that has always enjoyed unequivocal popularity, and for good reason: it is an extremely light and pleasant guitar to play, condensing the aesthetic of the Gibson solidbody models of the 1960s, and at the same time very rudimentary since it only has a single P-90 pickup. Although initially designed as student instruments, the SG Juniors have been the guitar of choice of many professional players since their introduction in 1963 (taking over from the Les Paul Junior model) – add to that a 23 fret neck fully accessible thanks to its double cutaway body and a Vibrola tailpiece, and the instrument is perfect for any playing context. The model presented here is perfectly typical of the end of the 60s: the body is now adorned with a large pickguard (this variant is denoted wide ‘guard), the Cherry finish is darker than what was previously present, we also find the original Kluson Deluxe tuners with metal buttons. The P-90 pickup is wired with a basic scheme consisting only of a volume and tone control. The instrument has been fully set up and prepared in our workshop, adjusted with low action and good intonation, in perfect playing condition.
Sold in its Gibson case.
