Gibson ES-335TDC, manufactured in Kalamazoo in 1970, in excellent original and preserved condition.
Here is a superb example dated from the early 1970s, in a very nice Cherry finish. The instrument comes to us perfectly intact, with all its main parts and its original chrome hardware: its Tune-O-Matic bridge, its trapeze tailpiece and its two humbucking pickups bearing their Patent No label. Other distinctive elements are also present: the original Kluson Deluxe tuners with their double ring buttons and reflector style potentiometer knobs. The rosewood fingerboard is ingle-bound and decorated with block-style pearloid inlays. We also note the construction of the neck in three pieces of maple as well as the presence of the volute at the angle between the headstock and the neck of the instrument, typical of instruments from the Norlin era which was just at its onset as this instrument left the Kalamazoo factory.
The guitar has beautifully regular varnish checking, and apart from a few signs of use expected on an instrument over 50 years old, remains remarkably intact to this day. We worked hard to restore all of its qualities as a musical instrument, having carried out a complete refret job and making a new bone head nut adjusted to the string gauge, then proceeded with the optimization of all the setup elements to get low action and accurate intonation – here is an instrument ready to go for many more decades of music!
Fully appraised by Jérôme Casanova, sold in perfect playing condition in its original Gibson hardshell case.
