Martin D-18 from 1969, in very nice original and preserved condition.
This D-18 dates from the late 60s, when Martin dreadnoughts reigned among the most sought-after and played acoustic guitars in the world – the bluegrass revival was in full swing, with leading figures such as Tony Rice or Norman Blake, both prominent Martin dreadnought players. This shape also enjoyed popularity among fans of folk and traditional music of all genres, since it lends itself equally well to soloing as to accompaniment. The 18 style found on this guitar is one of the most firmly established for the Nazareth producer, continuously produced in the form we know today since 1917: spruce top; mahogany back, sides and neck; rosewood fingerboard, bridge and headstock veneer. This set is completed by the original Grover Rotomatic tuners. Also note the rounded shape of the corners of the head, a typical feature of the late 60s due to the wear of the templates used to shape the head of the guitars.
To this day, this guitar remains superbly preserved, free of defects and almost free of traces of use. Above all, we have endeavored to give back to this D-18 all of its qualities as a musical instrument – the following operations were carried out in our workshop: a neck-reset to restore the proper angle of the strings on the bridge saddle while conserving a low action, a complete refret of the guitar followed by an adjustment in order to restore all the playing comfort and accuracy that can be obtained from these instruments.
Sold in its original Martin molded plastic case.
