Beautiful and rare Gibson ES-140 3/4 from the early 1950s, in excellent condition.

The ES-140 is one of the more eccentric creations offered by Gibson throughout the 50s – a small 3/4-size hollowbody electric described in the catalog as being perfect for youngsters, or adults guitarists with small fingers (sic). Almost resembling a toy in the shape of an ES-175, the ES-140 nevertheless quickly disperses any doubt and proves itself to be a fully professional quality instrument in its own right, with a round neck profile that is pleasant to play, a single P-90 pickup with a formidable sound and simple but classic appointment – a beautiful sunburst adorning the top and back, a rosewood fingerboard and adjustable bridge, a set of high-quality Kluson Deluxe tuners!

This ES-140 produced circa 1953 – one of 409 examples shipped during this peak production year – remains to this day intact and complete with its original main parts, and in perfect playing condition after being set up and prepared in our workshop.

Sold in a vintage case.
