Une belle guitare archtop Vega Duo-Tron de c.1950, en très bon état.

La Vega Company, fondée vers 1880 à Boston par Julius et Carl Nelson, acquiert rapidement une réputation grâce aux banjos de grande qualité qu’elle produit, plébiscités par les grands joueurs de l’époque, notamment Eddie Peabody.
Avec les années 30 et l’explosion du jazz, la compagnie se tourne vers la manufacture de guitares archtop, emboîtant le pas à de nombreux autres fabricants. Ainsi, le présent modèle n’est pas sans rappeler les instruments produits par Gibson dans la même période, avec un corps de 16,5 pouces le situant entre les proportions d’une L-4 et d’une L-5, une table massive en épicéa, son fond et ses éclisses en érable ondé.
Pour couronner le tout, cette guitare est équipée d’un micro flottant DeArmond FHC qui reproduit à merveille la tonalité chaleureuse de l’instrument acoustique. Réglé et préparé par nos soins, en parfait état de jeu.

A beautiful Vega Duo-Tron archtop guitar, built circa 1950.

The Vega Company was founded in Boston around 1880 by Julius and Carl Nelson, and quickly grew to fame thanks to the high grade banjos it produced which were greatly popularized by players of the time such as Eddie Peabody.
Then came the 1930s and the explosion of jazz, which pushed numerous instrument manufacturers to turn towards the production of archtop guitars marketed towards this style, a trend to which Vega followed suit. Thus, the present model is not unlike instruments built by its competitor Gibson, which its 16 1/2 inch body placing it between the L-4 and the L-5 in terms of proportions, its carved spruce top and flamed maple sides and back.
To top things off, this guitar comes equipped with a DeArmond FHC floating pickup, which perfectly brings out the natural tone of the instrument when plugged into an amplifier. Complete professional setup done at our workshop, in perfect playing condition.
